Southern Mantis Grade Levels
Steelwire System
Southern Mantis Kung Fu does not have a system of belts in the way many other forms of martial arts do. A typical student develops according to the path below. Progression to higher levels will only happen if you are happy to move to the next level and you have passed a grading test.
Level 1 - 0-6 Months
Level 2 - 6-18 Months (YAT CUP)
Level 3 - 12-18 Months (YE CUP)
Level 4 - 18-24 Months (SAM CUP)
Level 5 - 24 Months (Grey Sash)
Level 6 - 60 Months (Brown Sash)
Level 7 - Black Sash
Level 8 - Black Sash (INNER CYCLE) Weapons, Iron Palm Training, Internal Masters Level Practice.
Southern Mantis Syllabus
